Our service to customers
We work in partnership with all our customers, ensuring through our
commitment to continuous improvement and the highest level of
customer care that we add maximum value on every assignment and
exceed their expectations, not merely satisfy their needs.
In Malaysia we were independent checking engineer
for Kuala Lumpur’s new monorail – the first rapid transit system
using monorail technology of any significant length to be built
outside JapanAround the world we serve national and local
governments, health and education authorities, transport operators,
industry, utilities, developers, contractors, commercial companies,
banks, funding agencies and non-governmental organisations. We stay
closely attuned to all our customers’ varying needs and
aspirations, working in partnership to turn their ideas into
reality through innovative, inclusive and sustainable solutions. We
take pride in every commission, no matter the size. Our drive for
top quality service applies whether we’re helping to restructure a
national industry, plan a transport network, deliver healthcare
management training, introduce new business practices or restore a
wildlife habitat.
Our expertise
The immense scope of our business demands a huge variety of
expertise, which we’re able to provide in-house. Adding to our
capabilities in mainstream technical and management disciplines,
we’re skilled in specialist fields as diverse as ergonomics,
telematics, information management, cost consultancy, corporate
sustainability, nuclear engineering and organisational reform. Our
global resources and depth of experience also mean we’re ideally
equipped to meet the changing demands of public private
partnerships, PFI, full privatisation and asset transfer.
Our track record
We’ve made our mark on some of the greatest engineering feats in
the last 100 years – from London’s underground railway in the early
1900s and Egypt’s Aswan Dam heightening in the 1920s to the Channel
Tunnel and Hong Kong’s new airport in the 1990s. We’ve also helped
provide over 100,000 MW of private sector power capacity worldwide
and new water supplies for vast cities such as Shanghai and
Karachi.
Our role on Bangladesh’s ‘Strengthening Health and
Population for the Less Advantaged’ reform programme is one of many
ways in which our technical and management expertise is helping
improve healthcare in low and middle income countriesToday
we’re contributing to an even greater spectrum of development
around the globe. Just the briefest cross-section ranges from urban
regeneration in the UK, river basin management in Central Asia,
transport systems in Taiwan and the USA to healthcare initiatives
in India and Africa, education planning in China and environmental
capacity building in Romania.
Our people
Our success is fuelled by the dedication, enthusiasm and ingenuity
of our engineers, environmentalists, planners, economists, cost
consultants, project managers, safety experts, IT specialists,
educationalists, healthcare advisers, management consultants and
more.
Our staff include professionals recognised as innovators or world
authorities in their fields and we’re often asked to take part in
high level missions to developing countries where we’ve helped
shape national policies in various sectors. As part of our
commitment to encourage practical corporate social responsibility,
we support our staff in a wide range of humanitarian endeavours,
including assisting aid organisations in the field.
Brazil’s 226 MW Ibiritermo combined cycle gas
turbine power plant was awarded Latin America Power Deal of the
Year by Project Finance International magazine in 2004. As lender’s
engineer we’ll be monitoring the project until the loans are
discharged in 2015
Recognising that to work with the best we must be the best, we
actively encourage professional excellence and knowledge
management, which is why continuous learning and skills improvement
are ingrained in our company culture.
