Collaborative working

At Mott MacDonald we believe that any partnership calls for a complete culture of co-operation, collaboration, and continuous improvement, all geared towards attaining mutual objectives and best value. Whilst we have always strived to build close relationships based on trust and teamwork with all our clients, a formal partnering arrangement takes this a stage further, nurturing interaction between private and public sector expertise through total openness and trust. We are successfully delivering enhanced services through partnering arrangements of a variety of types across all sectors of our core markets.

Teamwork has been vital in our partnership with contractor JN Bentley, helping Yorkshire Water Services' (YWS) programme of water and wastewater schemes in both AMP3 and AMP4. Mott MacDonald Bentley (MMB) combines the technical design expertise of Mott MacDonald with the local construction knowledge of JN Bentley to provide a single-point service for solution delivery to YWS. This close partnership between client, designer and contractor is based in dedicated offices in Skipton and Bradford. As a result we’ve developed an excellent working relationship – and a very efficient project delivery process. MMB has been consistently voted best Capital Solutions Partner (CaSP) since the inception in 2000. As part owner of MMB we have demonstrated our willingness to take on contracting risk.

Our proven track record with Yorkshire Water contributed to our success in securing an AMP4 Special Projects Framework with Anglian Water, where we are working with both contractors and client to deliver a £150 million programme of large specialist projects, both water treatment and transfer as well as four advanced biosolids treatment plants.

In Scotland, we have worked in partnership with two other consultants in Q&SII to provide consultancy services across the entire country. This ranged from co-ordination of recruitment and resourcing through to bidding for projects together and exploiting the significant resource base available as a result of the partnership.
