management worldwide.
In Scotland we are assisting Scottish Water and the Scottish
Environmental Protection Agency test the impacts of proposed
guidance for implementing the Water Framework Directive on 80
catchments.
We are working with governments and river basin management agencies
across eastern Europe, Central Asia and China to help them prepare
for implementation of the Directive or other legislation which
shares similar objectives.

assist water utilities and water resource and environmental
protection agencies in short and long-term planning, for example
assisting develop Drought Plans or undertaking surface and
groundwater modelling to plan catchment abstraction management
strategies. We work with climate data to understand the present and
look to the future, taking climate change into account.
Demand for industry and domestic use continues to grow. As well as
assisting in the planning and developing of water resources and the
infrastructure to deliver these where and when required we work
with the water utilities to optimise their systems so to minimise
impact on the river basin. This includes sophisticated tools for
determining headroom and outage demands, taking into account asset
capacity and condition as well as economic factors.
