Design centre staffOur water design centre
(WDC) in India has been providing a high quality design support
service to UK, Middle East and African projects since 2004. The WDC
is based within the environment and infrastructure unit at
Ahmedabad.
The bulk of the work carried out by the WDC to date has
been:
- Reinforced concrete design including water retaining structures
to UK design codes
- Reinforcement detailing and scheduling to UK codes
- CAD drafting to UK client specifications
- Hydraulic analysis and design of water facilities.
Demand for these services is steadily increasing as the reputation
of the WDC for providing a rapid and dependable service grows. Work
has so far been carried out for United Utilities, Scottish Water
Solutions, Yorkshire Water, Wessex Water, Thames Water, Severn
Trent Water, Qatar Petroleum and the Ugandan Government.
The WDC’s position within the Environment and Infrastructure
Division means that it has a capability across a wide range of
engineering services including:
- Project management
- Design and modelling of trunk water transfer pipelines
- Design and modelling of water supply distribution networks
- Design and modelling of stormwater drainage and wastewater
collection
- Irrigation systems
- Integrated urban infrastructure
- Environmental improvement projects
- Stakeholder interaction
- Asset data compilation.
The Environment and Infrastructure Division has a long history of
completing major water, development and environmental projects in
India. The WDC can draw on this experience.
