Jonathan Bishop: water treatment processes

Jonathan in discussion with the works manager at the Pejompongen Nr 1 WTW, Jakarta, IndonesiaJonathan Bishop holds a Chemistry degree from the University of Cambridge and a postgraduate diploma in environmental management from the University of Surrey. He joined Mott MacDonald in 1998 after two years as a Process Scientist with Southern Water. He specialises in the field of water and wastewater treatment processes including process optimisation, evaluation and design, and water quality, water chemistry and drinking water standards. He has worked on projects in the UK, Indonesia, Mozambique, Ukraine, Tanzania, Uganda, Russia and China.

His work has included the review of the performance of water treatment works and recommendations for upgrading and capital maintenance work, including investment requirements necessary to meet current EU or international water quality standards. He has also carried out water quality testing to determine the optimum design characteristics for water treatment works. He has produced a guidance manual on carrying out process reviews of water treatment works. Jonathan is currently responsible for the project management of the feasibility study and design of the 90 Ml/d extension to Wing Water Treatment Works for Anglian Water in the UK.
