MozambiqueThiago Almeida successfully completed an
MSc in Water and Wastewater Engineering at Cranfield University in
2004 after graduating from the University of Nottingham with a BEng
in Environmental Engineering and Resource Management. He then
joined Mott MacDonald.
A process engineer with experience in process design and hydraulics
for water and wastewater treatment works, Thiago has had an
impressive career start as a graduate engineer supporting
investment appraisal and international development activities in
the global water industry. Strong communication, interpersonal and
analytical skills have resulted in the success of his professional
activities in Brazil, Canada, Thailand and the UK. Professional
highlights include experience in public private partnerships (PPP),
water and sanitation engineering studies, asset management, mergers
and acquisitions (M&A), and research activities carried out in
English, Portuguese and Spanish.
Thiago has worked in a variety of projects (including confidential
ones) in the Strategic Studies section of the Water Utilities
Division. Some of his most recent projects include: support in the
development of technical aspects of a Design Build Finance and
Operate contract for the Northern Ireland Water Service PPP
Programme; and the M&A technical appraisal of a leading UK
water company.
