Supervision of ground investigation works for
multiple pipeline project, QatarTim Blower has twenty-five
years’ experience of ground engineering associated with a broad
range of projects from major civil/structural projects to
contamination remediation contracts. He is currently responsible
for the management of the Ground and Environmental Engineering
Group of the Cambridge office. A Chartered Geologist, Chartered
Engineer and Fellow of the Geological Society, he has a DIC and MSc
in Engineering Rock Mechanics from Imperial College, University of
London as well as a BSc in Engineering Geology and Geotechnics.
Tim has a broad range of project experience including highways,
railways, light rail and canal infrastructure projects, and energy
and environmental engineering projects such as wind farms, river
engineering, landfill engineering and contamination remediation. He
has also had a long involvement with water engineering, dams and
reservoir projects throughout his career and has considerable
overseas experience, including four years in the Far East. Now
based in Cambridge, his most recent project experience has included
pipelines in Qatar, and dams in Egypt, Laos and Afghanistan,
including site experience in Europe, the Middle East and
Afghanistan.
His technical experience includes engineering geological
appraisals, ground investigations, shallow and deep foundation
design, soil and rock slope stability analysis, retaining wall
design, environmental auditing and assessment and contamination
remediation design. Tim’s experience has been obtained within a
variety of procurement routes, including traditional
consultant-designed projects, PFI design and PFI advisory roles and
various design and construct/DBOM regimes. He is an examiner for
the Specialist in Land Condition qualification administered by
IEMA, and has also given expert evidence in relation to
infrastructure projects.
